State Scholarships

MENSA OF WISCONSIN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: Varies from $300 to $1,000
Deadline: December
Criteria:
  1. Essay
  2. U.S. citizen OR
      U.S. resident who will be enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution of post-
    secondary education for Fall term of 2005
 

PRO-LIFE WISCONSIN
Amount: Two at $1,000
Deadline: April
Criteria:
  1. Graduating senior
  2. Accepted at any college/university
  3. Active in pro-life convictions
  4. 2 essays on pro-life topics
The revised scholarship application will be available in February, 2007.

VERY SPECIAL ARTS WISCONSIN
EARL & EUGENIA QUIRK SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: Five at $750
Deadline: March
Criteria:
  1. Be physically or mentally challenged
  2. Major in art-related field
  3. 2.5 GPA or higher
  4. Achievement & commitment to chosen art form
  5. 3 letters of recommendations
The revised scholarship application will be available in February, 2006.

VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA
WISCONSIN STATE COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: Four at $1250
Deadline: March
Criteria:
  1. Dependent or direct descendant of a Vietnam era veteran
  2. Interview a U.S. Military veteran
  3. Essay
The revised scholarship application will be available in October, 2005.


WISCONSIN AMERICAN LEGION
AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP

One application to qualify for all state scholarships below

Amount: Varies, see below
Deadline: March
Criteria:
  1. Wisconsin resident
  2. Child or spouse of a veteran
  3. 3.2 GPA
  4. Financial need
The revised scholarship application will be available in November, 2006.

WISCONSIN AMERICAN LEGION
SCHNEIDER-EMANUEL SCHOLARSHIP

Amount: Three at $1000
Deadline: March
Criteria:
  1. Applicant, parent or legal guardian is member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary
  2. Moral character
  3. Scholastic achievement
  4. School/community participation/leadership

Participation in one of the following:

  • Badger Boys/Badger Girls State
  • County Youth Government Day Program
  • The American Legion Oratorical Contest
  • American Legion-sponsored band/drum & bugle corps
  • American Legion Baseball Team
  • American-Legion-sponsored Scout Troup
  • Sons of the American Legion

WISCONSIN AUTOMOBILE & TRUCK DEALERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria:
  1. Pursue career in vehicle technician field
  2. Attend a Wisconsin VTAE
  3. Academic achievement
  4. School/community activities

WISCONSIN CATTLEWOMEN’S COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: Three at $800
Deadline: December
Criteria:
  1. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll at UW-Madison, UW-River Falls,
    UW-Platteville, UW-Madison Agricultural Short Course, or WI Technical College
  2. Must be studying for an agricultural related major
  3. Must have a background in the beef, veal or dairy industry
  4. High school and community activities
  5. High School GPA
  6. Career orientation

Criteria considerations include but are not limited to:  4-H/FFA, Ag Youth Group involvement

WISCONSIN ENGINEERS FOUNDATION OF WISCONSIN
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: December
Criteria:
  1. Plan on studying engineering
  2. 3.0 GPA
  3. ACT 24
  4. Class rank
  5. Activities & Honors
  6. Essay
The revised scholarship application will be available in October, 2006.


WISCONSIN GROCERS ASSOCIATION
EDUCATION & SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
Amount: Several at $500-$3000/renewable
Deadline: March
Criteria:
  1. Employment in grocery industry for 6 months
  2. Employer, store or company a current member of WGA at time of application
  3. Academic achievement
  4. Class rank
The revised scholarship application will be available in December, 2006.


WISCONSIN PROFESSIONAL POLICE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: Varies
Deadline: February
Criteria:
  1. Wisconsin resident
  2. Major in police science or criminal justice
  3. Academic achievement
  4. Extra-curricular activities
  5. Essay
The revised scholarship application will be available in October, 2006.


WISCONSIN PRO-LIFE SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: Two at $1,000 ($500 paid 1st year, $500 paid 2nd year pending cont’d leadership)
Deadline: April
Criteria:
  1. Attend WI college/university
  2. Active in pro-life convictions
  3. Submit 2 essays on pro-life topics
  4. Two letters of recommendations
 
WISCONSIN READY MIXED CONCRETE ASSOCIATION
ESSAY CONTEST SCHOLARSHIP

Amount:
  • $5000 for Middle Tennessee State University
  • $2500 for Alpena Community College

Criteria:

  2. Must be enrolled in a degree program in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science
  3. Based on scholarship and character

WISCONSIN SPACE GRANT CONSORTIUM UNDERGRADUTE SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: $3500
Deadline: February
Criteria:
  1. Enroll in any Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium college or university
  2. 3.0 GPA
  3. ACT/SAT
  4. Essay

WISCONSIN STATE FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: Two at $1000
Deadline: January
Criteria:
  1. Field of Fire Fighting
  2. Parent be a WI Fire Fighter Association member
  3. 2.5 GPA
 
 
WISCONSIN TOWNS ASSOCIATION RURAL MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY
Amount: Four at $750 (2 boys and 2 girls)
Deadline: May
Criteria:
  1. Typewritten essay
  2. Awarded to the highest-ranking winner from town who has Rural Insurance Coverage
